November Crochet Fashion

These are some of the things that I wore in November

I celebrated my birthday in November on Friday and Saturday.  I wore the black and white sweater on Friday, my actual birthday.  It was made with Tess Designer Yarns using the microfiber ribbon, superwash merino, and wool/silk. I also used a fur type yarn for the bottom.

I wore this dress the next day for a stepping event.  I used my scrap yarns leftover from Caron's Spa and Country  yarns that have since been discontinued.  I loved this yarn.  I also entered this dress this summer in the design contest for Crochet Guild of America. It did not win but it was fun to make.

I wore this top for Thanksgiving.  I want brown shades to wear for the day.

Rowan is back

I attended the Vogue Knitting Live show and discovered that my favorite yarn is back,  Rowan Denim.  I love this yarn.  I have made several items using this yarn.  I like the way it fades after you wash the item.   I was able to purchase a few more balls from Knitty City.

In addition, Vogue Knitting Magazine Spring edition, showed a knit top using Rowan Denim.  I found a comparable crochet stitch to match the knit stitch that appeared in the magazine.

Purple dress

I was excited about attending a Steppers Weekend in Arlington, Va., but I was not happy that it was the same weekend as the Rhineback Sheep and Wool Festival.  This would be the 2nd time in a row that I would missed the festival.

I told myself that if I still had yarn from the previous five  visits from Rhineback that I needed  to use this wool and alpaca yarns before buying more. Thus, I made the decision to go to Arlington.

I created a dress that would represent one of the colors of the Stepping group that I belonged to in New York City.  I used various yarns from Deborah Norville, Caron, Stylecraft (yarn stash), and Patons  in purple.
