Black History Month comes to an end but remember to celebrate the contributions of African American people throughout the year.


The scarf is created using various acrylic yarns.  Single and tapestry crochet is used in making this scarf.  Various african symbols are used in this scarf.

Celebrate by wearing the multi yarn red necklace that showcases fur and glitz.  The yarn is crocheted with a giant crochet hook using seven different yarns together.

This scarf showcases the colors of the various African countries.  It is created with 100% Acrylic yarn and  black eyelash yarn. The design used single and tapestry crochet.

The top part of the necklace is in a crown shape form to remember all the African Kings and Queens

I used bulky acyrlic/cotton yarn in black and white to create this scarf.  The black white reminds me of the colors of mud cloth, a traditional African cloth.

This scarf is made in shades of brown yarn with different fibers.  The face is made with a thin wool yarn with tapestry crochet.  I incorporated African Style buttons and cowrie shells.  Black Yarn is used to create the braids in her Hair.

This scarf is made by Italian Plymoiuth yarn . It is a fur yarn and it feels soft and looks like real yarn.  Fur was always part of going out for the older generation to show style and class.

This shawl was created from uing %100 Acrylic yarn in white and various shades of brown.  This shawl was created base on a Barbie Doll Outift.   I duplicated the dress and created the shawl to go with it.

This scarf is created using 100% acrylic yarn in various colors.  With the  gold yarn, I created a  a diagonal cable stitch and griddle stitch.  On the other side of the scarf is a tapestry crochet and stripe pattern.  The topside of the scarf is decorate with cowrie  shells.

This scarf is created using 100% Patons Wool in black and winter white.   I chose the basketweave pattern for the middle part of the scarf and for the bottom .  The tapestry crochet shows triangles, arrows and stripes.

The scarf is create with a variegated blue yarn on both sides of the rectangle that represents the beads that the Masia tribe wears in Africa.  I wanted to pay tribute, by crocheting a scarf using their color choices.  The scarf is created using 100% Acrylic yarn in various colors throughout.

This  scarf uses various colors and stitches.  The scarf shows the story of the  long paths that has been taken  throughout history to accomplish what we wanted.   I used 100% acrylic yarn for the scarf.  I used various colors: variegated pink, purple, turquoise, gray, black

When the temperature drops it is nice to wear an orange in a month that sky are sometimes gray and the days are cold. This scarf captures the shades of orange for a fall color.  The yarn is 100% wool and 100& wool boucle.  I purchased this yarn from my favorite hand dyed farm.  Fiber Mountain.  I always see that at the sheep and wool festival. Parts of the scarf uses a tapestry crochet pattern.  At one end, the design creates a triangles

This scarf is created using small circles in which the gold yarn is crocheted around it and then it is assembled on to the scarf.  the scarf is made with Rowan Denim Yarn, Red Heart Fiesta yarn in black/white and Lion Brand's Glitterspun.

It is a short scarf that wraps around your neck.

This scarf is created using 100% acrylic yarn.  The maroon yarn is a worsted weight 100% acrylic yarn and the black/white yarn is a 100% acrylic chunky yarn.  One side fans wider than the other to give better coverage under your coat.

Feb 4- African Pride

February is Black History Month and I will share with you different scarves that can be worn during the month to celebrate African American culture and people.  This scarf was create using black, red, green 100% acrylic yarn.  The pattern is the granny square stitch.

Green and Elegant Evening Shawl

I used a variegated green boucle  yarn with orange, red, blue and purple specks of yarn to create a nice long and warm shawl.   The fur allows it to be worn in the evening over a nice black dress.

Doily and Yarn Shawl

This shawl uses a doily pattern for a back of the arm chair.  Instead of using thread, I used a multicolor yarn with black to showcase the pineapples that appear in the pattern.
